Calgary Housing (CH) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the City of Calgary. CH is a purpose-driven social enterprise and the largest housing operator in Calgary, providing safe and affordable housing to more than 27,000 Calgarians. As a Team Lead, Business Intelligence and Program Management, you will be responsible for program management of Calgary Housing's technology projects and for the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision making. Primary duties include:

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and adhere to high quality standards.
  • Assemble project plans and teamwork assignments; direct and monitor work efforts.
  • Lead the Business Intelligence program, methodology and governance at Calgary Housing deciding on best business design to meet the organization's reporting needs.
  • Coach data experts and analysts in delivering technical solutions based on business requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a data strategy including governance, frameworks, policies and processes to support CH's strategic objectives.
  • Establish data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms, collaborate with data owners to implement data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage team resources in the delivery of Business Intelligence and tech projects ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Monitor and review work plans to measure progress relative to performance measures/targets, work plan deliverables.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to develop and motivate a high-performance team.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide strategic advice on topics related to business intelligence and technology innovation.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Math, Engineering, Bachelor of Science or related and at least 10 years of work experience on a team with similar core responsibilities.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading a program of work with similar core responsibilities is preferred.
  • Expertise in business understanding, requirements management, continuous improvement, business intelligence, data visualization, data analysis, and insights generation.
  • A strong understanding of data analytics methodologies and tools and experience leveraging data for driving business insights and outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Relational Databases and SQL, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile will be an asset.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to present and clearly explain insights based on data to non-technical executive audiences.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
