YOUR ROLE GroupHEALTH is looking for a passionate and client-focused Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll take ownership of a diverse block of small to large client accounts, acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner. You'll lead the full client relationship lifecycle—collaborating with internal teams to ensure exceptional service delivery—while mentoring and supporting our Benefit Specialists.

This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere in Canada. YOUR IMPACT As an Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and strategic guidance to clients within the group benefits space. Your expertise will help clients navigate plan design, renewals, and claims, while driving strong relationships and retention. Here's how you'll make a difference:

  • Be a Trusted Benefits Advisor: Build strong, lasting relationships with clients by acting as a strategic advisor for all things related to group benefits, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident in their plans.
  • Enhance Affiliate Collaboration: Partner with affiliate providers to support the sales process and help deliver tailored group benefits solutions.
  • Drive Retention Through Service Excellence: Proactively support company goals around client retention by identifying client needs early and offering benefits-driven solutions.
  • Lead Renewal Strategy: Prepare and present group benefits renewals, guiding clients through plan performance, options, and recommendations with clarity and confidence.
  • Own Benefits Review Meetings: Lead regular claims experience reviews and annual renewal meetings to help clients evaluate plan performance and make informed adjustments.
  • Meet and Exceed Service Standards: Consistently deliver high-quality service by maintaining or surpassing established KPIs and service level commitments.
  • Mentor Benefit Specialists: Provide guidance and mentorship to the Benefit Specialist team to ensure consistent, expert-level delivery of group benefits support.
  • Support Training & Development: Lead the development of Benefit Specialists in all areas of group benefits administration, including claims investigations, plan amendments, product knowledge, and documentation.
  • Educate Clients and Plan Members: Design and deliver engaging group benefits education sessions through webinars, recorded content, and in-person presentations.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting: Work closely with Underwriting to obtain quotes and alternates, ensuring clients have the best benefit options available.
  • Manage Escalated Claims: Serve as a key contact for escalated claims issues—including life, disability, and pooled benefits—resolving concerns with empathy and efficiency.
  • Introduce New Offerings: Keep clients informed about new group benefits products and services, helping them stay ahead with innovative plan options.
  • Interpret Benefits Data: Analyze underwriting arrangements, financial reports for ASO plans, and claims data to help clients make strategic, data-driven decisions.
  • Handle Complex Inquiries: Resolve advanced issues related to coverage, premiums, and billing with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and responsiveness.
  • Deliver Strategic Recommendations: Provide in-depth financial and contractual analysis to guide clients in optimizing their group benefits plans.

WHAT TO EXPECT: First 90 Days

  • Learn specific accounts and have a good understanding of them
  • Full understanding on virtual carrier administrative guidelines within 3 months
  • Leadership – a mentor for co-workers while building and supporting teamwork
  • Identify a raving fan of your WOW! service
  • Solid understanding of the underwriting process for new business, alternates, and renewals
  • Understands financial arrangements and financial reports for ASO accounts
  • Strong understanding of the full-service model as it pertains to high touch servicing of clients and required client experience service calls
  • Strong understanding of process for new group set up
  • Consistent achievement of reaching a target SLA of 90% and developing promoters of GroupHEALTH

THIS IS YOU

  • You have 3-5 years of related group benefits experience working for an insurer or consultant/broker
  • You have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • You have your LLQP
  • You are proficient in MS office programs
  • You are comfortable and have experience presenting to groups and facilitating learning sessions

THIS IS NICE

  • You already have your GBA or CEBS Designation (or working towards)
  • You have experience with CRM systems
  • You have a university degree

Your Compensation At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary pay range for this position is $75,000-$80,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
