Statement:

Keolis is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dispatcher to join our team in Langley, BC. In this role, you'll be instrumental in coordinating transit operators and vehicles, ensuring reliable daily service, and acting as a vital communication link for our team and clients. Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm (some flexibility).
Wage: $27.00 per hour
Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Education in Business or Administration would be an asset.
- Previous experience in a Dispatch role (asset)
- Administrative or office experience (preferred)
- Experience with electronic dispatch software (asset)
- Ability to come in if FT dispatcher is sick or on vacation and fill in for Admin (nice to have)
Skills:
- Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Diplomacy and tact when handling customer and employee interactions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Use of Teams, email, and other software
Key Accountabilities:
Dispatch Operations and Coordination
- Listening and responding to dispatch requests from transit operators
- Responding to sick book-offs and following procedures to fill vacant shifts
- Creating daily/weekly schedules
- Assigning/reassigning buses to the schedule
- Answering the dispatch phone for inquiries from our client CMBC and Translink
- Receiving and responding to emergency assistance or service requests from dispatched resources
- Preparing daily operator work and run schedules, aligning with company and partner objectives
- Communicating effectively by providing clear and concise instructions, updates, and directions
- Advising personnel on route or traffic issues that may impact operations or customer service
- Relaying work orders, messages, and other communications using a variety of systems, including computer-aided dispatching equipment
- Utilizing various computer applications and databases to support dispatching operations
- Performing dispatch duties, as directed by the General Manager
Record Keeping and Administration
- Assorted paperwork and data entry
- Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies, completing necessary documentation
- Maintaining accurate dispatch files and records, including customer requests, service logs, payroll updates, expenses, and other dispatch-related documentation
- Ordering necessary materials and supplies for dispatch activities
- Assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Retrieving AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) data and printing maps as needed
- Tracking vehicle mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and expenses, generating reports as required
- Processing and updating payroll adjustments throughout the sign-up period
Customer and Staff Interaction
- Addressing customer and staff concerns, answering questions and handling requests professionally
