About the Role:
- This position reports to the Plant Food Safety and Quality Director of Ferrero Canada Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Food Safety and Quality at the plant, related to incoming process flow, in accordance to group guidelines, in order to avoid any quality issues related to the incoming deliveries.
- Management of non-conformances on Incoming materials, according to the Group and local procedures
- Support with investigations for non-conforming materials in the value chain (raw materials, packaging and semi-finished).
- Supervise and coordinate the job of the Quality Sampling Technicians, Raw Material Technician and Packaging Lab Specialist and sampling activities on the incoming materials.
- Management of quality of internal and 3rd party warehouses in compliance with Group guidelines
- Providing support for Food safety and quality to the internal and external warehouses.
Main Responsibilities: INCOMING MATERIAL MANAGEMENT
- Ensure that all incoming materials are inspected and stored in the opportune condition, according to the group and local procedures
- Ensuring the release of incoming materials after quality testing as per minimum requirements
- Non-conformity management of incoming materials, including stock management in SAP for holds and releases for raw materials
- Execute additional statistical sampling and inspection for non -conforming materials
- Provide inspection reports and support claims process for FSQ related issues in the supply chain
- Support central teams in shelf life studies and management of local shelf life extensions of materials
- Work closely with the 3rd party warehouses to provide quality support where needed and manage non-conformities with incoming raw, semi-finished or packaging materials
- Make final decisions on raw, semi-finished & packaging non-conformities
- Communication of not conforming deliveries to the internal and external parties involved (FSQ team, Suppliers, SC, Purchasing, MRP, FQD, AQM DPU, DMP, etc.)
- Work closely with the Area and Central departments involved on the incoming material processes
- Participation during audits and management of corrective/preventive action implementation
- Provide information requested by central departments (FQD, AQM, etc.)
- Support projects to set up process for Incoming materials
WAREHOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT
- Ensure implementation of group quality requirements related to warehousing and transportation
- Support all warehouses (internal and external) in case of non-conformities and day to day operations needs
- Responsible for managing 3rd party facility audits and approval
- Risk assessment of warehousing operations related to material receiving and storage
- Participate in SIM and other related FOX activities
NON-CONFORMING PRODUCT
- Promptly provide support to the production department, in case of anomalies identified along the process or in case of quality issues.
- In case of issues or anomalies, cooperate along with the PQM responsible, to determine and implementing corrective actions to avoid that the same issues continue to appear.
- Keeps the product on hold for Food safety and quality reasons.
- Manages the possible non-conformities.
- Support FSQM pillar for root cause analysis for NC and consumer complaints related to materials.
- Execute additional statistical sampling and inspections for semifinished on hold for deviations.
- Support and provide necessary documentation for the supply chain claims related to food safety and quality.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Quality Sampling Technicians and Packaging Lab.
- Ensure that all Technicians involved in the incoming checks are trained on related procedures and operate in compliance with the work instructions and operative procedures.
- Organize work hours, vacation requests and performance evaluation for technicians
- Ensure the technicians are trained for Health and Safety as well as Environmental aspects
QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY
- Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced and maintained
- Responsible for risk assessment of incoming processes HARPC plan and support FSQSM for Food defense implementation
ENVIRONMENTAL
- To assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental Management System within key process areas
Who we are looking for:
- Knowledge of raw materials and packaging materials used in the food industry
- Knowledge of methodology for quality inspection on raw materials, packaging and semi-finished products
- Knowledge of statistical checks and sampling methods, including aseptic techniques
- Demonstrated ability to manage and provide strong leadership to a team
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
- Able to travel to warehouses and provide support when needed
- Able to work independently
- Knowledge of Ferrero’s products and Quality and Food safety standards
- Ability to conduct audit, presentations and training sessions
- Good knowledge of MS office and SAP
- A post-secondary degree in related field is preferred
