About the role
As a Food Runner / Busser at the National Bank Open, you’ll be an essential part of the guest experience across our various dining zones — from VIP lounges to general dining halls. You’ll help ensure smooth and elegant service by supporting servers, maintaining clean dining spaces, and promptly delivering food to guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Dining Room Support
- Set and reset tables efficiently before, during, and after service.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of dining areas, including floors, tables, chairs, and service stations.
- Assist with clearing plates, cutlery, and glassware promptly and discreetly.
Food Running
- Deliver dishes accurately and efficiently from the kitchen to guests, ensuring proper presentation and timing.
- Communicate clearly with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth food flow and order accuracy.
- Serve VIP clients with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
General Event Duties
- Replenish utensils, napkins, and condiments at service stations and dining tables as needed.
- Assist with stock organization and setup/breakdown of dining areas.
- Support various food service zones (VIP restaurant, athlete dining, spectator halls) as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or events is an asset.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and comfortable being on your feet for long periods, carrying trays, and climbing stairs if necessary.
- Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 weeks
Pay: $16.10-$20.00 per hour
