Devereaux Elementary School is a small rural elementary school located 15 minutes west of Dawson Creek in the community of Arras with a population of approximately 110 students and 11 staff. The majority of students ride the bus, to and from school, and live on a farm or in a rural lifestyle. Students enjoy a host of opportunities including music instruction, concert band, active volleyball and basketball teams, an outdoor skating rink on school property, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and downhill skiing/snowboarding trips.

Many of our students, parents and staff have lived in the area for many years or even generations, and there is a deep-seated sense of community in the school. The yearly Christmas concert attests to this, as we traditionally have standing room only in the gym for this event. The caring community within Devereaux Elementary School is our greatest attribute. Students learn, help and play together, regardless of age or grade. It is not unusual to see Kindergarten through to Grade 7 students playing soccer and four square together. Our older students model citizenship, helpfulness, kindness and acceptance every step of the way. Care and community describe the core of Devereaux Elementary School.
