This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

CBC/Radio-Canada is currently looking to continue the development of its Environmental, social and governance (ESG) procurement activities. As an ESG Specialist, you will be supporting the overall implementation of its ESG procurement initiative.

Reporting to the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Procurement Advisor, you will participate in and influence changes to ensure ESG is embedded in procurement and the supply

chain. You will be supporting the ESG Procurement Advisor for the improvement, the execution and the follow-through of ESG initiatives as well as the Directive on Sustainable procurement.

This is in support of the procurement activities related to the following strategic plans:

Fighting child and forced labour (to respect the new

Federal Act

).

The assignment is planned to start early Fall 2025 for a one-year period (date to be confirmed).

This includes but is not limited to the following activities:

  • Offer expertise in ESG procurement and cultivate relationships with pertinent internal stakeholders while also fostering EDI values.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to operational teams on ESG procurement.
  • Embed environmental, social, and governance factors within evaluation criteria and procurement processes.
  • Track and support the measurement of progress in ESG procurement initiatives and future procurement systems.
  • Enhance and manage changes to guidelines and checklists for ESG-focused procurement documents.
  • Work on the implementation and support changes to the Directive on Sustainable Procurement.
  • Support relationship building with indigenous or underrepresented groups and communities according to the business needs.
  • Collaborate with the national team to support Indigenous and reconciliation activities.
  • Support the development of the risk analysis and mitigation strategies needed to fight child and forced labour in our supply chain.

We are looking for a candidate with the following :

  • Very good understanding of ESG principles (Environment, Social, Governance) and their application in organizations or procurement.
  • At least three years of experience in ESG or sustainability is required
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles.
  • Experience with procurement or supply management or knowledge is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities is a strong asset.
  • Experience with accessibility is an asset.
  • Experience in process and procedure document drafting is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability and including sustainability criteria in the procurement process is an asset.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and solution-oriented mindset, even when faced with operational challenges.
  • Ability to use software applications (Google environment, office suite, excel and or presentation software).
  • Ability to support data analysis and measure progress.
  • Ability to manage projects and priorities effectively.
  • Bilingual (French and English spoken and written)
  • Able to travel in Canada when required.
