Reporting to the Foreman, a Bridge Worker is a skilled bridge/construction worker involved with maintenance and construction of bridge structures and other types of related infrastructure. The work involves a wide variety of activities using numerous tools, equipment, and materials.
How You’ll Add Value
· Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
· Operate and perform minor maintenance on equipment such as jackhammers, drills, chainsaws, tampers, sandblasters, and concrete vibrators
· Work on the structural steel and concrete components of bridges, and assist in bridge washing, cleaning, painting, sandblasting, sealing, grouting, placing structural concrete, etc.
· Load and unload materials from trucks
· Perform flagman duties
· Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods in confined areas, on scaffolding, and under variable weather conditions
· Perform other related duties as required
What You Bring
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License; with Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
- 1+ years of experience as a labourer
- 1+ years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction industry
- Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed
Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing will be required.
