Position Overview The City of Prince Albert is currently accepting applications for casual positions of Lifeguard in the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department.
These positions will be responsible for monitoring public activities in and around swimming pools, ensuring adherence to rules, procedures and safety regulations, performing rescues, CPR and first aid. Candidates qualified as Lifesaving Instructor and/or Lifesaving SWIM Instructor will instruct and conduct swimming lessons as well .
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for proper safety procedures, and in cases of emergency, performing basic first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
- Supervise the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare lesson plans and programs.
- Attends to all inquiries through personal, telephone, and written communication.
- Cooperatively participate in enforcing swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
Required Qualifications Grade 12 or equivalent; or Age 16 if a continuing full-time student
Possession Of The Following Awards
- Lifesaving National Lifeguard - Pool
- Standard First Aid with CPR-HCP or BLS
- WHMIS
- Criminal Record Check Required Including Vulnerable Sector Search
