About the role

About Us

We’re a 5-year-old design-build firm based in Ottawa, specializing in high-quality residential renovations, additions, and custom homes. With a strong in-house design team and a growing reputation for excellence, we’re poised to double our revenue over the next 12–18 months. We’re looking for a Sales & Business Development Manager to help us get there.

The Role

This is a senior-level position reporting directly to ownership and working alongside our Operations Manager. You’ll be the face of the company for new clients, responsible for driving sales , managing leads , and building long-term relationships . You’ll also help shape our marketing strategy and ensure our digital presence supports our growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the sales process from first contact to signed contract
  • Qualify and nurture inbound leads from our website, social media, and home shows
  • Develop new business through networking, referrals, and partnerships (e.g., realtors, mortgage brokers)
  • Collaborate with our design team to ensure smooth handoffs and client alignment
  • Work with our website and social media partners to ensure messaging and lead capture are optimized
  • Use and improve our CRM (Buildertrend) to track leads, proposals, and follow-ups
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade shows
  • Provide input on pricing, estimating, and project scoping as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in sales or business development , ideally in residential construction, design-build, or real estate
  • Strong understanding of residential construction processes and project lifecycles
  • Tech-savvy: comfortable with CRM tools, digital marketing, and lead tracking
  • Confident communicator who can build trust with clients over long sales cycles
  • Collaborative mindset — able to work with strong personalities and build team cohesion
  • Bonus: connections in the Ottawa real estate or construction community

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software
  • Familiarity with Net Zero or Tarion-certified projects
  • Background in marketing, branding, or digital strategy
