Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and portioning food accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the highest quality of food handling.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals during service hours.
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
- Participate in kitchen clean-up tasks, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
Skills
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff efficiently.
