Payroll Coordinator - Hybrid, Permanent
Our legal client is seeking a Payroll Coordinator for a permanent hybrid role, 2-3 days on-site in downtown Toronto.
This position supports payroll operations across multiple Canadian and U.S. offices and is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle biweekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll across multiple jurisdictions.
- Handle employee changes such as hires, terminations, promotions, and leaves.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
- Remit statutory withholdings, benefit contributions, and garnishments.
- Issue ROEs and prepare year-end tax slips (T4s, W2s).
- Generate reports using UKG Pro and BI tools.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure payroll compliance.
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement projects.
- Support the team during peak periods and absences.
What You Bring:
- PCP designation or currently working toward it.
- 2+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a multi-jurisdictional setting.
- Experience with UKG Pro is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
