The Opportunity:

The Immigration Services Branch is seeking, one Client Service Officer (CSO) for a two year term position within the Recruitment Services Unit. Working in a fast-paced customer service environment, the CSO is responsible for providing customer service to skilled worker applicants, stakeholders and employers. This position would be based out of Regina or Saskatoon.

Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment Services Unit, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing client service to a variety of stakeholders by telephone, email and in-person;
  • Assessing and making decisions on requests;
  • Creating and amending communications to effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding program criteria, processes and project status updates; and,
  • Assisting in administrative tasks such as onboarding and offboarding of employees.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of business practices and office procedures;
  • The ability to use databases and computer software;
  • The ability to apply critical thinking and make decisions within the parameters of the Recruitment Services Unit;
  • Excellent communication skills to explain processes, updates and collect feedback from clients, employers, stakeholders; and,
  • An enthusiastic team player who tactfully and respectfully supports colleagues to promote a positive work environment.

You will have knowledge of:

  • Office and/or administrative procedures, protocols and office equipment;
  • Various computer software, databases and reporting functions;
  • How to provide professional and quality customer service while maintaining established service standards; and,
  • Assessment and decision-making as it pertains to program criteria.

You will have the ability to:

  • Search for and assess complex and sometimes conflicting data/information to develop materials, reports and make decisions/recommendations about the application of programs, policies, procedures, acts, regulations, guidelines and contracts;
  • Work independently or as a contributing member of a variety of teams to complete work assignments, achieve common goals and contribute towards a positive work environment;
  • Plan and organize multiple, complex tasks and projects, taking into consideration conflicting and changing priorities to meet strict and/or changing deadlines;
  • Lead, guide, coach, advise and encourage co-workers in order to establish and maintain a harmonious and cooperative work environment;
  • Liaise with other agencies, staff, ministries, the public and overseas institutions and agencies to obtain, exchange, coordinate or confirm information while maintaining confidentiality and staying within policies and procedures; and,
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate information and/or explanations to a variety of people, including those who do not speak English as a first language, in both verbal and written communication in a manner appropriate to the audience.

  • Tactful and diplomatic in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Honest/ethical in order to build trust and respect, be consistent and maintain integrity to
    perform effectively; and,
  • Open-minded, respectful, welcoming and supportive in order to positively work with a variety of individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, demographic and socio-economic backgrounds.
