At North West Veterinary Dermatology Services, your weekends belong to you — because we believe that time to recharge is just as important as the work you do.
We’re a thriving, fast-paced group of veterinary dermatology specialists, and we are looking for several assistants and a receptionist with variable start dates to join our dedicated team at our Vancouver clinic. Two of which are maternity leave positions: one assistant position and one receptionist, and one permanent full-time assistant position.

Your Role as an Assistant
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians during exams and procedures – Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and maintain a clean clinic environment.
- Performing low stress patient handling to ensure the safety of both the pet, your colleagues, and yourself.
- Preparing and filling prescriptions with accuracy.
- Preparing patient samples for laboratory analysis.
- Maintaining accurate client and patient records using our practice management software — attention to detail is a must.
- Managing email correspondence and phone calls, including responding to client questions and coordinating with referring veterinary clinics.
Your Role as a Receptionist
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Creating a warm, welcoming environment for both clients and their pets — your friendly demeanor sets the tone for every visit.
- Handling incoming calls with professionalism and care, providing accurate information and support.
- Managing email correspondence, including responding to client questions and coordinating with referring veterinary clinics.
- Scheduling and tracking appointments, while following up as needed to keep things running smoothly.
- Maintaining accurate client and patient records using our practice management software — attention to detail is a must.
- Processing payments and managing the cash register, ensuring every transaction is handled accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Veterinary Office Assistant or Medical Office Assistant certificate or previous experience in a veterinary clinic setting is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and comfort working with digital tools in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Cornerstone software is preferred for keeping records organized and efficient.
