About the role

Health Services, Peel Regional Paramedic Services

Status: Regular Full Time

Salary Range: $117,464 - $146,830.00 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

Number of available positions: 10

Hours of Work: 42 hours per week, following a rotating schedule of four (4) shifts on—comprised of 2 day shifts and 2 night shifts—followed by four (4) days off.

Day shift: 5:00am to 5:00pm

Night shift: 5:00pm to 5:00am

As Superintendent, Paramedic Services, you will play a vital leadership role in a service that responds to over 145,000 calls annually, operating with innovation and integrity. You will coach and support frontline paramedics, foster a healthy workplace culture, and ensure operational and clinical excellence—helping Peel Region residents in their greatest time of need.

Your Impact!

As Superintendent, you will:

  • Provide team-based, people-centred leadership that supports paramedics to thrive.

  • Champion equity, diversity, inclusion, psychological safety and a culture of care.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring deployment, patient care, and documentation meet the highest standards.

  • Lead with integrity through change, complexity, and high-stakes situations—including major emergencies and multi-agency incidents.

  • Build collaborative relationships across emergency services, health partners, and the community.

  • Contribute to advancing our vision for seamless, integrated emergency care.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

What You Bring!

  • A passion for service excellence, community health, and paramedic practice.

  • A minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a certified Ontario paramedic (AEMCA + Base Hospital authorization); supervisory experience preferred.

  • Emotional intelligence, resilience, and sound judgment in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and labour relations skills (unionized setting experience an asset).

  • Valid Class “F” Ontario Driver’s Licence and full Ambulance Act compliance.
