About the role

Staff Accountant (Full-Time position)

Job Location - Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)

As a key member of the Finance Team, the Staff Accountant will support our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for collecting month-end reports and statements, book journal entries into our accounting system, and conducting thorough reviews and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Collect, organize, and review month-end financial reports and statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Accurately book journal entries into the NetSuite accounting system, adhering to established procedures and accounting principles.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of booked transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the integration of financial data from newly acquired entities, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with company practices.
  • Work closely with the accounting and finance team to address discrepancies and provide insights into financial data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and accounting workflows to enhance efficiency.

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years of accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically in Excel
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information with professionalism and tact
  • Currently enrolled in the CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) program will be an asset
  • Exposure to multi-entity environment an asset
  • Exposure to NetSuite an asset
