Job Title: Senior Tax Consultant
We are seeking a Senior Tax Consultant to join a Corporate Tax team. In this role, you will support the Manager, Corporate Tax in managing the corporation's and its affiliates’ tax obligations—primarily focusing on corporate income tax , tax accounting , compliance , planning , and reporting .
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statement tax provisions and disclosures.
- Analyze and reconcile tax account balances; post journal entries.
- Support tax forecasting, planning, and legislative impact analysis.
- Complete and file corporate income tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and analyze regulatory filings and forecasts.
- Serve as the main contact for internal stakeholders, auditors, and tax consultants.
- Assist with government tax audits, including documentation and responses.
- Deliver presentations to business units and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and maintain updated control narratives.
🧠 Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
- CPA designation in Canada required.
- 5+ years of progressive tax and accounting experience in a public accounting firm or large corporation.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in corporate income tax.
- CPA In-Depth Tax Course or MTax program is an asset.
- Strong understanding of tax compliance, reporting, and IFRS (tax-related standards).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Proficient in SAP , Business Intelligence tools , and Microsoft Excel ; familiarity with PowerPoint and Word.
