Job Purpose We are seeking an enthusiastic, bright, analytical, and decisive individual interested in joining our exciting Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Team. This team is accountable for epidemiologic and health economic analyses to support reimbursement and access in Canada. The team supports across several disease areas and are members of cross-functional teams that include staff from Medical Affairs, Government Affairs and Market Access, Regulatory, and Marketing. The Health Outcomes Operations Specialist role reports directly to the Director, HEOR.
The primary function of this critical role is to lead activities and project manage non-interventional studies and economic model adaptations. This position requires a self-driven individual with a passion for quantitative health research and enthusiasm to learn new skills. Your Responsibilities In this position you may participate in:
Project Management
- Support the HEOR team with administrative and project management tasks related to scientific engagement, non-interventional studies, and other team activities as required.
- Coordinate research processes through contract development, protocol review, and data dissemination.
- Track projects, monitor key metrics and ensure compliance using GSK systems.
Research & Analytics
- Identify appropriate data sources to resolve evidence gaps.
- Summarize scientific literature for presentation to various audiences (those with and without technical backgrounds).
- Perform basic descriptive, exploratory, and analytic analysis as required.
- Assist in quality assessments and critical appraisals.
- Assist in the design and adaptation of health economic models for the local Canadian organization.
- Assist in the design of outcomes research projects to address data gaps relevant to reimbursement submissions and medical strategic plan.
Communication
- Assist in the writing, review, and preparation of scientific documents, including validation of quantitative data, for scientific journal publications, conference presentations, and health technology assessments.

- University degree in health science, epidemiology, biostatistics, or comparable
- Project Management - High degree of initiative and sense of urgency with an ability to lead and manage multiple priorities and projects of a significant scope, in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills while ensuring exceptional attention to detail and quality results.
- Some knowledge of the Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Health Technology Assessment and Reimbursement environment in Canada.
- Strong critical and analytical thinker who excels at managing timelines and prioritizing work.
- Effective oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and determine action required.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team to deliver deadline driven results.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree and/or project management certification
- Research experience and technical capability in two or more of the following areas: burden of disease, outcomes research, clinical epidemiology, economic modeling, cost-effectiveness evaluation.
- Fundamental understanding of epidemiology principles
- Previous experience writing, proofing, and preparing scientific documents for journal publication.
- Previous experience reviewing and validating quantitative data.
