The Product Owner 1 for Payment Processing Solutions will be responsible for defining and delivering product capabilities that support the end-to-end lifecycle of payment transactions. This role focuses on optimizing transaction workflows, ensuring operational efficiency, and integrating with financial systems and clearing platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-volume payment environments and a strong understanding of financial messaging standards.

This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

About The Role:

  • Define and prioritize product features and enhancements with a strong focus on payment processing systems, which is a critical must-have area for this role.
  • Strong experience working in Agile environments is essential – candidates must be comfortable with Agile methodologies, ceremonies, and iterative product development.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively guide and support teams working in or transitioning from Waterfall environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of product increments.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into user stories.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal audit requirements.
  • Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Support integration with external financial systems and clearinghouses.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

What You Need to Succeed: Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in a financial services or payments environment.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing systems and transaction workflows.
  • Experience working in agile development environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Skill Requirements

  • Payment’s expertise is a must – candidates should have hands-on experience with payment systems or platforms.
  • Agile experience required – must be comfortable working in Agile teams and participating in Agile ceremonies.
  • Strong communication skills – essential for guiding and supporting teams, especially those transitioning from Waterfall environments.
  • Knowledge, and experience within the financial services industry considered a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience with managing backlogs for digital products
  • Experience as Product Owner with products at every stage of the product development lifecycle (from ideation to release)
  • Experience in conducting user research and soliciting feedback from customers
  • Excellent facilitation skills to conduct requirements gathering sessions and reviews with stakeholders and customers
