Accountabilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of equipment in the packaging department and cellars used for the processing of grapes to wine
  • Comfortable working around equipment and performing packaging duties and tasks
  • Processing and sorting of fruit to press and tank
  • Keep the equipment and machinery and the surrounding area clean during operations, without causing down time.
  • General barrel work: cleaning, filling, hydrating, emptying, stirring, topping etc.
  • Operating and cleaning of grape sorting equipment
  • Be responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of tanks, pumps, and hoses after use and for clean conditions in cellars,
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Perform any other assigned work, as required.

Skills & Experiences Needed:

  • Must be willing and able to work in all areas of the winery both within and outside the building and meet the physical requirements of all aspects of the job.
  • Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, navigate stairs, stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have an excellent standard of safety, work performance, and attendance
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Available for all days and shifts, including weekends, evenings, and graveyards
  • Forklift Operator’s Certificate an asset
  • Previous experience working in harvest in a large production facility an asset
