Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, demonstrating, maintaining and troubleshooting TRUMPF CNC machines for the TRUMPF Machine Tool division, Press Brakes/Punching machines as well as connected Automation Systems) with minimum assistance.

Field Service Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair TRUMPF equipment with high quality.
  • Demonstration and Train customers in use and repair of TRUMPF machines in a complete and organized manner.
  • Travel up to 100%. Travel includes regional, national and international travel.
  • Complete basic retrofits, software installations and customer training
  • Troubleshoot and remedy complex issues
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems and maintain good relationship to customers
  • Use relevant electrical measuring tools efficiently for trouble shooting
  • Submit required weekly TRUMPF reports in a complete and organized manner.
  • Assist other Field Engineers as directed.
  • Participate in training lasting approximately 6 months with on-going training on existing and new products each year.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds without aid.

Travel Requirements Must be located, or ability to relocate, within 45 minutes of a major International Airport

100% travel required, both internationally and domestically

Perform extensive travel as needed, including but not limited to Monday through Friday

Some weekend work as needed

Experience/Education

  • Two-years technical school degree in Engineering principles or a suitable combination of education and work experience. Also, experience in computer software/file management is of advantage.
  • 2 or more years of experience in technical service, field service, repair or customer service required
  • Strong electrical and computer systems experience and high level of diagnostic skills
  • Previous experience with robotics, lasers, automation systems or mechatronics.
  • Previous experience with hand tools and measurement tools
  • Must have strong problem-solving and excellent organization skills
