About the Role
As our Logistics Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of our freight operations. You will be an essential force behind our rate analysis, carrier relationship management, and overall operational support. This role is designed for someone who thrives on negotiation, market analysis, and contributing strategically to streamline logistics operations. Your efforts will ensure our solutions remain both cost-effective and efficient, delivering excellence to our customers every single day.
Responsibilities
- Optimize Shipment Solutions: Understand shipment parameters and secure the most effective transportation options to meet client needs.
- Innovative Problem-Solving: Provide alternative transportation solutions when standard options aren’t a perfect fit.
- Rate Research & Quoting: Diligently research and present accurate tariff and spot quotes to keep our operations competitive.
- Market Vigilance: Follow up with carriers on market developments to proactively adjust our service or pricing strategies.
- Data-Driven Support: Deliver timely and precise data to support our rates and pricing teams.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a core group of trusted carriers.
- Carrier Development: Drive continuous research to identify and develop new provider relationships.
- Rate Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate LTL and TL rates with both new and established carriers.
- Project Coordination: Oversee the logistics for major projects, ensuring smooth rate planning and seamless execution.
- Strategic Carrier Selection: Make informed carrier selections that maximize profitability through smart cost reduction and consolidation strategies.
Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 3+ years in logistics, transportation, or within the third-party logistics (3PL) industry is preferred.
- Pricing & Negotiation: Proven experience with freight pricing, spot quotes, and carrier negotiations.
- Operational Know-How: Familiarity with both Less-than-Truckload (LTL) and Full Truck Load (FTL) operations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for negotiation.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellence in service delivery.
