We are looking for an Advanced Care Paramedic to work with our Ambulance Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of an Advanced Care Paramedic within Ambulance Department

Under minimal supervision from the Chief of Paramedic Services, the Advanced Care Paramedic is responsible for providing emergency patient care within legislative and provincial guidelines as an Advanced Care Paramedic.

Qualifications:

  • Currently certified as an Advanced Care Paramedic including required auxiliary medical directives by a provincial based hospital in the province of Ontario
  • Current Ontario Ministry of Health, Core Training
  • Diploma in Ambulance and Emergency Care from Community College
  • Diploma in Advanced Care Paramedic from Community College or equivalent
  • EMCA or A-EMCA Certified by the Ontario Ministry of Health
  • Advanced paramedic certificate by the Ontario Ministry of Health
  • Qualify for employment under the Ambulance Act
  • Valid Class “F” Driver’s license – with good driving record
  • Current B.C.L.S. Certification
  • Preceptor experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work under stressful situations and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work closely with entire health care team
  • Current physical agility evaluation (PAE) (within 6 months) or minimum experience of 2 years fulltime experience or equivalent
  • Appropriate lifting techniques
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records

Hiring Salary Range: $49.182-$52.318

  • The duration of this temporary position is approximately six (6) months.
