JOB SUMMARY:
The optimal candidate is an experienced professional that will hold strong multi-tasking, organizational and computer skills. This position is being offered on a full-time basis. The accountant will perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. A successful Accountant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES NOT LIMITED TO:
Accounts Receivable
- Process customer sales invoices for a group of the company ensuring completeness and accuracy of all shipping documentation and submit sales invoices to customers.
- Monitor and process Manufacture Charge Backs (MCB) for the group of company on a timely basis.
- Dispute MCB efficiently by working with sales team to collect all necessary documentation.
- Process customer credit applications, including completion and documentation of trade and bank reference checks.
- Complete new customer setup in the ERP system.
- Process customer payments and remittances.
- Manage Accounts Receivable by reviewing weekly customer aging reports and by working with sales team to follow up on overdue accounts.
Month-end and Year-end
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Verify all sales invoices properly posted to the subledger.
- Review accounts receivable aging for any unapplied credits.
- Prepare assets, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Assist with month-end and year-end procedures and reconciliations.
- Comply with the monthly and yearly close schedule timing.
- Prepare and file GST and PST returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Assist with audits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Various other duties assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Experience with accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound business judgment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work well within a team environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 or 3 years of experience in Accounting
- Accounting degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite would be an asset.

WORK TIMINGS: Monday to Friday. 8:00am to 5:00pm (8 hours Shift)
PAY : $53,000.00-$62,000.00 per year. Commensurate with your experience
