Overview
We’re looking for an experienced data generalist who’s comfortable working across both data science and data engineering domains. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with clear communication, collaborates well with a range of stakeholders (including senior leadership), and thrives in environments with autonomy.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Background:
- Experience working across both data science and data engineering is key.
- You’ve built data pipelines and performed core analysis and modeling.
- You’re familiar with data modeling, predictive modeling, and building data tables.
- This role is approximately 10–20% data engineering, with the majority focused on analytics and data science.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- You’re able to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable presenting insights to senior leadership (VP level).
- You bring professionalism and maturity in cross-functional collaboration.
Autonomy & Leadership:
- After an initial ramp-up (~2 months), you should be able to take ownership and move projects forward with confidence.
- You enjoy solving problems, even when things are ambiguous, and know how to navigate and get things done independently.
Cultural & Domain Fit:
- You’re familiar with the pace, culture, and expectations of modern tech companies and can adapt quickly.
Technical Stack:
- Strong skills in Python (for analytics, modeling, or even a bit of web scraping).
- SQL proficiency is a must.
- Familiarity with Superset, Airflow, and Snowflake is a plus.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working with consumer-facing data or high-volume transactional data.
- Background in experiment design or using analytics tools.
- A “figure-it-out” mindset, with examples of tackling complex, real-world projects independently.
