As an Electroencephalography / Electromyography Technologist with VCH you will:
- Perform technical functions related to Diagnostic Neurophysiology.
- Perform duties including:
- conducting various tests such as Electroencephalography (E.E.G.), Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, Electromyography (E.M.G.) and Magnetic Evoked Potentials (M.E.P.),
- recording measurements,
- formulating technical reports for interpretation by medical staff in clinical diagnosis and performing operating room monitoring procedures, as required.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduation with a Diploma of Technology in Electroneurophysiology.
- One (1) year’s recent, related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Certification with the Canadian Board of Registration of E.E.G. Technologists (C.B.R.E.T.) and successful writing of the Canadian Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC), the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) examination.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Comprehensive knowledge of evidence based Electroneurophysiology practice related to conducting various diagnostic tests including E.E.G.,
- Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, EMG, and M.E.P.
- Broad knowledge of Electroneurophysiology theory and practice within a client and family centred model of care.
- Broad knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with Electroneurophysiology equipment.
- Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, leader, and facilitator.
- General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safety care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in both one-on-one and in groups
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to the assessment of clients.
- Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
