OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

Possession of a valid applicable provincial/territorial, or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Trade Certificate in one or more of the following:

↪ Plumbing

↪ Steamfitting/Pipefitting

↪ Sheet Metal

↪ Carpentry

↪ Painting

↪ Electrical

↪ Electrical Generating Systems

↪ Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

↪ Tile setting

OR

  • An applicable military QL5 qualification or higher.
  • NOTE: A military qualification of QL5 or higher will be accepted for the purpose of being eligible to be placed in a pool or inventory. However, for some locations, the applicant will be required to obtain Journeyperson Certification in the applicable trade prior to a term or indeterminate appointment.

Degree equivalency

Experience EX1: Experience in repair, maintenance, inspection or installation of systems and equipment related to the trade(s) to be filled

Various Security Profiles In Accordance With Position Being Staffed ↪ Reliability Security Status

↪ Secret Security Clearance

Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

A valid, unrestricted provincial driver’s licence holding a qualification (class) equivalent to the DND vehicle to be driven/operated.

Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain the DND 404 military driver’s licence.

Current and acceptable driver’s abstract.

Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector and Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest .

Candidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment.

Depending on the position to be staffed, other conditions of employment may apply.
