About the role
Capilano Universities School of Animation and Visual Effects (AVFX) offers career-oriented programs that are dedicated to inspiring and training a new generation of talent in the animation and visual effects industries.
This position is for a part-time, Lab Supervisor position in the 3D Animation for Film and Games Department. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of industry experience in animation production. As a lab supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support to faculty and students with course work .
Duties include but are not limited to:

Support the 3D Animation for Film and Game students in the use of industry standard Animation and technologies.

Mentor students in the production of portfolios and demo reels.

Assist students in solving technical production issues for their projects.

Evaluate students’ performance and provide critical feedback.

Create and maintain training resources for students, staff and faculty.
-
Work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty and industry in the development and delivery of programs and curriculum.

Participate in department activities including program planning, assessment and review.

Aid the department in building an online community and presence for the program and graduates.

Inspire the next generation of CGI artists and animators.
Experience, competencies & qualifications
- A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience;
- A minimum of 5 years’ Animation production experience.
- Teaching experience in Animation preferred.
