Posting Period: July 25, 2025 - July 31, 2025 Under the general direction of the Program Manager, the Occupational Therapist provides assessment of assigned clients and develops and implements individual and group occupational therapy treatment programs. The Occupational Therapist is accountable for maintaining the Standards of Practice and Ethics of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. The Occupational Therapist will provide clinical education and experience for allied health students and will participate in formal teaching and research in conjunction with Queen’s University. As a member of the clinical team, the Occupational Therapist will participate in discipline-specific and inter-professional activities that are directed towards a client-centered environment and that contribute to quality, operational efficiency, professional and program development.
Skills And Qualifications Required
- Graduate of a recognized school of Occupational Therapy
- Active, unrestricted license to practice with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Experience in specified area of practice preferred
- Experience in instructing students an asset
Position Responsibilities
- Utilizes evidence-based practice and best practice
- Utilizes outcome measures to guide clinical decision making
- Reviews medical referrals
- Assesses level of function and the needs of clients in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure
- Identifies and implements treatment to achieve client goals
- Prepares clients and caregivers for discharge
- Enters workload data accurately at required frequency
- Participates in occupational therapy education for clients, their families and caregivers
