Gain valuable experience by working as student for one of our Supply Management Contracts groups. Our diverse and balanced portfolio includes exciting opportunities to work with either an Operations or Projects team on one of the following assets; Oil Sands Horizon, Oil Sands Albian, Conventional, or Thermal. You will provide support at all phases of the sourcing cycle, which will develop your expertise and prepare you for future employment. You will develop your skills and add value while also having the chance to meet other students and partake in initiatives such as the Student Social Committee!
- Term length: 4 months, with the possibility to extend
- Term start: September 2025
- Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
- Students will be responsible for finding their own accommodations during the work term (Note, candidates may be eligible for relocation assistance pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Student Relocation Policy)
- Work schedule: 5 x 2, Monday - Friday, 8 hours/shift
- Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities
- Provide support to the contracts group at all phases of the sourcing cycle, including Request for Proposals (RFP)/ Request for Quotations (RFQ), proposal evaluations, awards, contract administration and expediting, and close-out activities
- Ensure completeness of RFP/RFQ documents, record proponent’s/bidder’s communication during the RFP/RFQ stage, and maintain communication and records during contract administration and close out
- Provide administrative support for the Supply Management team assuring that appropriate controls systems and administrative procedures are followed according to the approved acquisition cycle
- Document and compliance verification on existing commercial agreements
- Act as a liaison between Leads and Supply Management Professionals (SMP) in regard to monitoring progress and team milestones
- Support the SMP team in time intensive activities like data analysis and verification
- Identify cost savings opportunities as suggested by the SMP team initiatives
- Assist to develop sustainable supply chain strategies through market research, business unit needs analysis, risk and commercial analysis
What You Bring To The Role
- Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of an undergraduate degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management/Operations Management. Other relevant degrees will be considered.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- The following are considered assets:
- Experience with JD Edwards and/or Maximo
- Experience with a Contract Management system
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of buying, contract development/formation and contract administration
