About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of the INSPIRED Program, the Respiratory Therapist (RT) will provide essential support to the Lung Wellness Clinic. The Lung Wellness Clinic represents a natural expansion of the INSPIRED program and will serve as an additional point of entry into collaborative chronic disease management. It will play a foundational role in delivering healthcare and education for respiratory conditions as well as other chronic illnesses. This proposed clinic will also facilitate community-based placements for respiratory therapy trainees, offering them the opportunity to work to their full scope of practice.
The RT will act as a preceptor during scheduled clinic days, supporting the activities of RT trainees and students enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy Program. Key responsibilities include performing spirometry testing and providing clinical guidance to students to enhance their learning experience.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and currently licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists required
- Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams required
- Successful completion of hospital-based certification and recertification procedures are mandatory for continued employment
- Current certification in BCLS is required
- Proof of completion of an approved COPD Educators program (CRE) or equivalent preferred; if not completed, after hiring
- A minimum of two years' experience in Respiratory Therapy is required
- Clinical experience in the relevant practice area preferred (ie. Respiratory clinic, spirometry, community-based care, chronic disease management, patient educator)
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve
- Willingness to adapt to change working within an evolving program
- Experience being a preceptor and supervising students, an asset
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; must be an effective team player
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, videoconferencing)
- Access to reliable transportation
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Long assignment part-time position; 45 hours biweekly
- Starting September 2025 for approximately (12) months. Dates are subject to change
Compensation and Benefits
$36.69 - $47.15 Hourly
