About the role
Westside Recreation Centre is a world-class facility based on a lifestyle and wellness concept. Since 2000, we have been providing families with high quality and accessible recreation facilities, programs and services. A Fitness Consultant is responsible for providing members with exceptional customer service, member interaction and monitoring the fitness floor. The fitness consultant is responsible for providing an environment that is properly maintained, safe, and accessible for all Westside users.
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervising and ensuring proper use of all fitness equipment and area
- Providing excellent customer service
- Providing orientations to equipment suitable to members’ needs
- Providing orientations to youth age 10-15
- Providing current, safe and reliable health and wellness information to members
- Conducting fitness assessments
- Light cleaning and basic maintenance of fitness equipment
- Responding to emergency and first aid situations
- Knowledge of fitness classes/programs currently being offered
- Assisting with set up/cleanup of gymnasiums, multi-purpose rooms and fitness studios
Work Term
- Part-Time Position Available
- Evenings and Weekends
- Specifically looking for the following shift:
- Saturdays 1:45-9:15pm
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Minimum of 2nd year BKin completed (or equivalent degree) or Exercise Science Diploma/Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma
- Must have current Alberta Approved First Aid training agency - CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid
- AFLCA/Can-Fit Pro Certification in Group Exercise or Older Adult would be an asset
- CPT or CSCS Certification would be an asset
