We are a growing life sciences-focused hedge-fund. This is an in-office position based in Toronto.
ABOUT THE JOB
We offer unique opportunities for exceptional science graduates. This position requires genuine critical thinking and quantitative
skills to be leveraged in a professional research environment. Life-sciences and finance knowledge/experience is a plus, but not a
requirement. As part of your responsibilities, you will be exposed and interact with leading global, life-sciences companies and
management teams, in helping identify relevant investment opportunities for the fund. Occasional travel is required.
Start date is no later than September 30, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Document, recommend and present research on potential investment opportunities.
• Predict the probability of success of therapeutics in development and commercialization.
• Conduct fundamental life-sciences related research and quantitative data analysis
• Review company financial statements, conduct market analyses and build valuation models.
• Attend broker conferences and management meetings.
• Build relationships with management, buy-side and sell-side analysts and other industry experts.
EDUCATION
• Life Sciences or Science related academic background (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Statistics, Engineering etc.) with
strong quantitative skills.
• Applicant must upload academic transcripts
• Applicant must upload aptitude test results - e.g., SAT, GRE, MCAT, GMAT, LSAT - if available
SKILLS
• Personal accountability: you take charge of yourself, tackle new challenges, and reap the benefits
• Comfortable with statistics and data analysis
• Efficient and detail-oriented
• A strong communicator
• A problem solver
• Record of academic publications in high impact journals (appreciated but not required)
• In-depth understanding of FDA drug/biologic approval process (appreciated but not required)
• Knowledge of accounting, economics, finance and financial analysis (appreciated but not required)
• Proficient in English (written and spoken)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$75k -$85k per year plus bonus per year
We will consider more experienced candidates - in which case compensation would be commensurate with experience.
