ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Sales Manager of GEA Ready Mix, the incumbent follows the team’s commitment to safety excellence, drive to be the employer of choice, focus on industry leading service and solutions. The Sales Representative is responsible for growing RMX business, focusing on customer base of all sizes, managing accounts as assigned, interacting with decision makers while achieving sales performance targets.

The Sales Representative is the Lafarge contact for all projects in the assigned areas and strategic accounts, and is to promote Lafarge Ready Mix concrete products, services and solutions through daily onsite visits with customers. Reporting to the Sales Manager of GEA Ready Mix, the Sales Representative must also work closely with Safety, Operations, Quality Control, Finance, and Customer Care and Logistics Centre (CCLC). The Sales Representative is responsible for growing RMX business in the Metro Edmonton, focusing on customer needs for all customer base, managing accounts and relationships, interacting with decision makers while achieving sales performance targets, and explore and improve the use of Sale Force Lightning functions for sales team.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Drives revenue through increased sales and solution selling to optimize opportunities to maintain and grow customer base.

  • Reviews and understands project specification including concrete specification, structural drawings, contract details, terms and conditions in the assigned areas and for assigned customers.

  • Efficiently and accurately produce quotations by use of computer software such as Sales Force Lightning (SFL) and submit to customer in timely manner before deadline.

  • Daily review sales report and make correction in a timely manner, and works with Lafarge Americas Business Services (ABS) and Billing Coordinator to ensure accuracy.

  • Ensures that relationships are solid through meeting daily visit targets per day with clients, site superintendents, project managers and subcontractors, on site and at offices.

  • Ensures full completion of Forward Order Book (FOB), pending report, sales and revenue forecasts.

  • Works with customers to actively resolve site-related issues or account problems.

  • Works with CCLC to ensure appropriate product use and promote extra products and services.

  • Participates in local associations and partnerships to maintain and increase Lafarge presence in local areas and to promote values sales.

  • Attends and supports customer events to present Lafarge interest.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma, or an acceptable combination of education and related work experience.
Additional Education Preferred: N/A
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Managment
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry and concrete ready-mix experience preferred.
Required Training/Certifications: N/A
Required Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Suite and Salesforce is an asset.
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

  • Strong sales ability, can quickly understand customer needs and provide solutions.

  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills; a self-starter.

  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong time management skills essential.

  • Patience and understanding but be able to deescalate situations.

  • Independent thinker.

  • Ability to negotiate skillfully in tough situations without damaging relationships.

  • Ability to maintain composure in dealing with difficult situations; demonstrates positive customer service attitude.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
