Your Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Reporting, the Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s Canadian tax compliance processes across all entities. This role is ideally suited to a detail-oriented professional who thrives working independently and is passionate about maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines—without the high-pressure demands of constant tax planning or advisory work.
Day to Day
- Manage the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns for the parent company and its numerous subsidiaries
- Oversee and coordinate annual tax provisions and reporting processes in collaboration with Finance and external advisors
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial tax laws, including sales tax and other indirect taxes
- Support audits and reviews by tax authorities
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure the company remains compliant
- Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to streamline compliance workflows
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as required
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in corporate tax, with a strong focus on compliance
- Experience in a large private company or public accounting firm
- Excellent understanding of Canadian tax laws and corporate tax compliance
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work with minimal supervision
