**Desktop Support Specialist (6 Month Contract)

Location: Spruce Grove / Alberta

Staffing Placement Opportunity** Position Summary This role is responsible for providing computer user training, desktop hardware and software support, and general IT assistance. The position includes desktop application support, printer and mobile device services, audio-visual technology support, and occasional network administration tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical support inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues; escalate complex problems when needed.
  • Create and update technical documentation and end-user guides.
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
  • Respond to service issues and requests in a timely manner.
  • Set up accounts and equipment for new users.
  • Repair or replace hardware as required.
  • Provide second-tier support for application or hardware issues.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve system-wide issues.
  • Track and communicate progress on support issues.
  • Maintain and update the internal help desk knowledge base and FAQs.
  • Produce monthly help desk reports and statistics.
  • Meet service level expectations for response times and quality of support.
  • Conduct hardware and software installations on client workstations.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improving support processes.
  • Research and recommend computer hardware and software products.
  • Develop and maintain support materials, including step-by-step guides.
  • Train non-technical staff on the use of technology.
