About the role
Downtown Italian cafe is looking for an experienced part-time prep cook to join our team. Shifts include weekday and weekend days. Salary is $19-$22/hour to start depending on experience. We are located at 321 Bloor St. West. Please email your resume and references. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping
- Assist in cooking and preparing menu items according to set recipes
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Monitor stock levels and communicate with the Head Chef to place orders
Skills
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience working in a kitchen or similar food service environment
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
