We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Night Shift, Shop Foreman, located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Position Overview:
As a Shop Foreman, you will use your mechanical expertise and leadership skills to oversee shop operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism. You will guide and support a team of mechanics to ensure both company-owned and customer equipment remains in strong operating condition through proactive preventative maintenance and repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled OEM repairs on various types of machinery.
- Repair equipment to OEM-regulated specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct all preventive maintenance (PM) service requirements.
- Recondition and replace parts on heavy equipment.
- Identify potential wear and tear issues on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company and site safety procedures.
- Follow safe work procedures at all times.
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics and warning labels.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong time management skills.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lead, coach, and mentor others.
- Commitment to following safe work procedures.
- Journeyman Red Seal certification is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
