A role you will love This role reports into the Regional Accounting Manager and the role holder will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of the month-end close process, reporting to Group and preparing local statutory financial statements and regulatory reports for allocated legal entities ensuring that all deadlines are met. The Financial Accountant will support the audit process by providing supporting evidence and documenting accounting positions. They are focussed on maintaining appropriate controls in the reporting process and that all continuous improvement initiatives are well supported in their region.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Supports the month-end close process for assigned legal entities by posting selected journal entries and undertaking appropriate reviews to ensure that all numbers reported to Group are accurate and complete
- Prepares group Half-Year and Year-End disclosure reporting packs
- Participates in preparation of statutory accounts under local GAAP where required and regulatory reports for assigned regional subsidiaries focussing on accuracy and timeliness as well as local board reports where applicable
- Supports the audit process by preparing appropriate work papers and co-ordinates provision of audit evidence
- Contributes to both regional and group-wide ad hoc projects including continuous improvements, group initiatives and participation in transformation activity where required
- Maintains appropriate controls in the reporting process and puts forward ideas for process, policy and control improvements
- Responds to ad-hoc requests in areas related to reporting and financial control deploying accounting and reporting expertise
What will you bring to the role? You will bring a few years of working experience in an accounting capacity and have knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards, understand basic controls in the reporting and other finance processes; we offer comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure your success.
Other Key Skills Required For The Role Include
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
- Accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, or local equivalent) - fully qualified or attaining qualifications
- Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) with additional focus on MS Excel
- Experience with Oracle ERP system preferred but experience with another general ledger system also acceptable
