Position - We are seeking an applicant to join our Wind Effects - Bridges Team as a Junior Engineer in our Guelph, ON office.

This role includes but is not limited to:

  • Pre-test work – coordinating with Model Shop and Wind Tunnel
  • Monitor the construction of models, ensuring adherence to timelines and an efficient flow
  • Conduct and manage data collection activities
  • Collaborate with senior technical experts who conduct analysis and consult on the aerodynamics and wind response of long and flexible aeroelastic structures (e.g., long-span bridges and solar arrays).
  • Potentially perform wind loading analysis
  • Plan and coordinate all technical aspects of assigned projects including wind tunnel model design and design of experiments.
  • Provide support for the preparation of proposals and marketing material; Work under the general supervision of senior staff

We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or other post secondary technical education.
  • Comfortable with scientific computing/data science (e.g. Python, Matlab) and LaTex.
  • Knowledge of the design of structures and/or knowledge and application of wind sections of building codes (i.e., AASHTO LRFD, CSA S6, EN 1991-1-4, NBCC, ASCE 7).
  • Must have hands on experience and skills
  • An aptitude for practical problem solving and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines.
