The Director, Business Analysis is accountable for aligning IT initiatives with business goals and ensuring the effective implementation of technology solutions, working with cross-functional development teams and business stakeholders to define and implement business strategies, product roadmaps and new features.

Overseeing the business analyst team, this role focuses on driving the quality, consistency and strategic alignment of business requirements for technology initiatives. The Director will translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical delivery, aligning with IT strategy and enterprise architecture and collaborate with CIO, technical leadership, and external resources, on solution design and architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Business Analysts, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Establish and maintain a standardized approach to requirements gathering, documentation, solutioning and stakeholder communication.
  • user-centered design, business process design, and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with product owners, project managers, business stakeholders and technical teams to develop roadmaps and build business cases including benefits and costs to ensure that business needs are effectively translated into technology solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, acting as a bridge between IT and other departments.
  • Identify and analyze business needs and opportunities, translating them into IT requirements.
  • Contribute to the design of solutions and future state processes, ensuring they meet business requirements and address identified issues.
  • Develop detailed solution design documents, including BRD, process documents, and quick reference guides.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders to ensure prioritization is driven by business value.
  • Partner with the PMO, architecture, QA and development teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and IT, fostering strong relationships and a deep understanding of organizational priorities.
  • Ensure that all business analysis activities support compliance, security and internal governance standards.
  • Understand and keep up to date with emerging technologies, trends and innovative solutions across the industry.
  • Monitor and analyze IT performance, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting solutions.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years experience in business analysis or IT project delivery with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycles, agile and waterfall methodologies and enterprise IT environments.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performing team.
  • Collaboration Skills: Excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills to build and maintain strong supportive relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Critical thinking skills: Proven ability, using logic and reasoning, to evaluate alternative solutions, recommendations, summarize conclusions and approaches to mitigate risks. Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience in retail analytics, e-commerce, or consumer-focused environments, ERP and commercial platforms.
  • Strong expertise in BI platforms, SQL, and modern data architectures.

COMPENSATION: Budgeted Range – ($149,555.00 - $193,542.00)

The budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
