Applied Computer Education IT Operations and Information Security

POSITION TYPE: 3 Full-Time, Permanent Positions Available

SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

  • The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

POSITION LOCATION: Exchange District Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of Applied Computer Education, the Instructor(s) will teach both online and on-campus courses for Applied Computer Education programs. This Instructor(s) will develop and/or teach courses in Security and IT Operations. The Instructor(s) may also be required to teach other courses; if required, time for professional development to learn relevant skills will be provided. Additional duties include collaborating with peers to update courses, contributing to the learning environment of the department by committing to ongoing professional development to stay current with industry practices, supporting the learning of peers, and participating in departmental and College projects and committees. Solid technical expertise paired with strong communication and intercultural skills are required to inspire students in a blended learning environment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent; a combination of education and recent, relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience working in IT Operations or Information Security
  • Experience with various security or IT infrastructure
  • Experience with Customer Experience and User experience philosophies and practices
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group setting
  • Experience with Agile Project Management
  • Experience in working at an IT service or help desk
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and ability to stay current with technology and process changes
  • Experience with project documentation and technical writing
  • Experience with IT Service Management philosophies and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in working with Microsoft Copilot or other AI technologies
  • Experience with Design Thinking and Innovation best practices
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
  • Has obtained technology certifications
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
  • Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
  • Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
  • Must work on campus
