This position is at the L07 level with an hourly pay range of $38.38 - $48.56

Reporting to the Manager Accounting Services, this position is responsible for accurate processing of the regular monthly general ledger and accounts payable records of the Corporation including organizing, inputting and verifying the information and documentation relative to daily financial activities. This position also has responsibility for accurate processing of the regular bi-weekly/monthly payroll for the P.A.R.T.Y Program This position also has responsibility for the Yukon Hospital Foundation (YHF), the P.A.R.T.Y Program and Run For Mom for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable including organizing, inputting and verifying information, including documentation relative to daily financial activities. In addition this position is responsible for maintaining the Corporations’ Accounts Payable module of the Meditech system, providing on site expertise and training to users, quality control, dictionary maintenance and implementation, testing and training related to all accounts payable upgrades.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :

• Solid demonstrable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices including audit functions and requirements.

• Solid knowledge of computer accounting systems and strong Microsoft Office computer skills

• In depth knowledge and considerable experience in accounting which includes: general ledger, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

• Strong communication skills both oral and written

• Strong analytical and organizational skills, and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a cross – cultural environment

• Ability to work with multiple accounting software programs

• Ability to identify problems both of a recurring or non-recurring nature and to identify accounting issues that affect this position

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload

• Ability to work independently

The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of five years’ experience in advanced accounting processes for all forms of general ledger transactions and accounts payable transactions with associated understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and relevant tax authorities, all preferably in a hospital or other healthcare environment Or Business Administration Diploma or a nationally recognized accounting program with three to five years of experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Strong knowledge of the Meditech System, Knowledge of Financial Edge and Raisers Edge Software, Knowledge of Simply-Sage Software and understanding of charitable organizations are desired.
