We are looking for dynamic and collaborative self-starters who wants to make an impact on our organization and community. We are seeking someone with flexible availability, including Monday to Friday during daytime hours, evenings and weekends.
Working in a cross-functional and growing municipal environment, you will work under the direction of the Arts, Culture & Event Coordinator, and will be responsible for the smooth operation of all functions having regard for public safety and providing superior customer service at all times. You will also be responsible for:
- Meeting and greeting clients and providing a full orientation of the facilities and making yourself available for any client questions/inquiries, and assist as needed and operating within the Occupiers Liability Act guidelines
- Opening and closing of the facility while ensuring that all set up requirements are completed; ensuring that the facility is secure and vacant at the end of use and that the alarm is appropriately set and the building is secure
- Room set-up and clean-up ensuring that all tables, chairs, and room dividers are clean and in good working order; performing general maintenance functions as required, including regular inspections and testing of building equipment and systems, generators, alarms, security systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lights and automated external defibrillators (AED)
- Completing minor repairs and reporting any damage to the facility or equipment on appropriate forms
- Conducting detailed inspections of the interior and exterior of the facility ensuring that all exits are clear of obstructions including external snow removal during the winter months
- Completing all required reports and documentation such as daily log book, injury reports, accident and incident reports, damage reports, daily facility sheets, daily work sheets, vehicle inspection forms, work order forms, site confirmation forms, and banquet hall check lists
- Working special events that are led by the town. These events will require assistance with set up and tear down and maintenance throughout the event; staying visible to the public and staff at the event and available to assist when needed
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate holds:

Minimum grade 12 education and First Aid certification (CPR) required. WHMIS and Smart Serve certifications would be an asset.

Preferred candidate will have one (1) to two (2) years facility operations experience or equivalent with experience in various aspects of the workplace or in a general customer service environment.

Interpersonal skills required to deal with the public and other service groups, verbal skills required to communication information to the public in an appropriate manner.

Class G Driver’s license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.

Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends or special events as required. Must be able to work alone (some shifts ending at 2 a.m.)
