JOIN US AS OUR NEW CASUAL AUDIO-VISUAL OPERATOR!

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up stage and readies equipment in preparation for rental events / programs, including tables, chairs, props, podiums, cables, microphones, power, laptops, projects, overheads, speakers, lighting, cue recordings etc., using standard operating and safety procedures and / or direction provided by the coordinator.
  • Personally, operates all audio-visual services equipment during events / programs. Handles live sound mixing, lighting, programming band set-ups, plays and other events that require sound and lighting programming and cues.
  • Ensures all audio-visual equipment is functioning correctly and efficiently. Performs routine troubleshooting of equipment, including minor repairs when able.
  • Reports major audio-visual equipment/technology problems and customer comments / concerns and solutions to the full-time Audio-Visual Operator and Coordinator.
  • Acts as the technical contact of events / programs and ensures strong, positive working relationships are built with customers (performers and patrons) to ensure their satisfaction with Library services.
  • Provides just-in-time audio visual equipment training and familiarization, if required, for internal and external customers.
  • Ensures strong, positive working relationships with clients, programmers, contracted security, volunteer ushers and staff involved in events.
  • Ensures stage and booth are clean, organized, items returned to storage at end of each event / program and all audio-visual services equipment is secured and stored when not in use.

Do you have?

  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for serving the London community
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Experience operating audio-visual equipment and related computer hardware/software, including (but not limited to) the Digico Sound Board and Avolite Lighting System and programming
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Two years of post-secondary education, including coursework in audio-visual equipment or technology setup
  • Availability to work evening and weekend hours and respond to call-in requests to work.
  • Flexibility to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, including days, evenings, and Saturdays as required

Band 3 - $23.726 to $30.311 per hour.
