Job Title: British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS)

We specialize in legal, construction, engineering, and resource development projects throughout the Peace Region and beyond. We are seeking a motivated and experienced BCLS to join our dynamic and growing team in Fort St. John—a thriving community that offers a unique blend of small-town charm, career opportunity, and access to the great outdoors.
Position Overview:
As a British Columbia Land Surveyor, you will lead a variety of land surveying projects across the region, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and high standards of accuracy and quality. You’ll collaborate with field crews, CAD staff, engineers, and clients to deliver timely and effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage legal and engineering survey projects from initiation to completion
- Oversee field and office staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Perform plan checks, legal survey computations, and QA/QC of final deliverables
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and government agencies
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, bylaws, and professional standards
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff and survey technologists
Qualifications:
- Commissioned British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS) in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of experience in legal or engineering surveys (preferred)
- Strong understanding of BCLS regulations and land title requirements
- Proficient in survey software (e.g., MicroSurvey, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the region
