About the Position
Lethbridge Polytechnic offers a student-centered environment that provides practical and innovative learning experiences. The Centre for Business, Arts, and Sciences (CBAS) delivers a range of certificate, diploma, degree and university transfer, including A’paitsitapisksinimaattsaa (Weasel People Education), Business Administration, Administrative Office Professional, General Arts and Science, Agriculture Science, Environment Science and Academic Upgrading, together with teaching service courses to students in many other Lethbridge Polytechnic programs.
The Centre seeks to recruit the position of Program Assistant for a 15-month term contract to cover for a leave. The successful applicant would have the background, expertise, and proven ability to provide confidential, professional, and administrative support to the Centre for Business, Arts and Sciences. Under limited supervision, the position requires exceptional time management, organizational, project management, planning and priority-setting skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to telephone and email inquiries, records management, formatting letters, communication with faculty/staff/students, purchase requisitions, travel and field trip arrangements, office and lab supplies, room bookings, event support, course scheduling, meeting arrangements/minutes.
Position Details
The successful candidate will possess an ability to work effectively with all members of the CBAS community (staff, students and faculty) and make a positive contribution as a member of the Centre’s administrative team. The incumbent will perform a wide variety of tasks requiring well-developed skills in the areas of administration and organization, interpersonal and verbal communications, assessment and analysis, critical thinking and problem solving.
Required Qualifications

Two-year diploma in Office Administration; combination of experience and education may be considered.

Exceptional time management, organization, planning, communication and priority-setting skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.

Advanced technical skills are required including the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database software, internet and electronic mail and other office equipment.

Flexibility to work within a variety of areas, both independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Post-secondary administrative experience.
Salary
AUPE Class Level 7 Step 1 $24.04/hr
