The Child and Family Programs (CFP) Division, Ministry of Social Services is seeking an experienced employee who is a dynamic and creative leader as Manager, Out of Home Care. Reporting to the Director, Out of Home Care, the employee will oversee the out of home care resource continuum including Out of Home Care, service delivery to foster families and extended families, Family Connections, and placements. The employee will model the Parent Resources for information, Development and Education (PRIDE) model of practice and engage in partnerships in working with caregivers throughout Saskatchewan.
In this assignment, the employee will be responsible for the oversight and management of these programs along with data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure that services delivered by CFP are effective, efficient and support the Ministry’s strategic direction. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to a team of Supervisors and staff in the Centre service area; as such some travel will be required.
In this position the employee will need to understand and respond to multiple demands, have a proven track record in developing and maintaining profession relationships with managers and staff; be results oriented and accountable with the ability to exercise sound judgement; and have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. The successful candidate will have significant leadership experience and will have obtained the knowledge and abilities required for this position through a university degree in human services (Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, etc.), along with extensive knowledge and experience in Child and Family Programs and of its corresponding Acts and Regulations.
Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job will be obtained through a university degree in Social Work or through a relevant undergraduate degree and progressive management experience in a human service program delivery setting as well as several years supervising professional staff at Child and Family Programs.
