Description:

As a Recreation Therapist II, you will take a leadership role in ensuring that the level of therapeutic recreation practice in your clinical area is evidence based, patient-and family-centred and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will provide clinical leadership to ensure safe and efficient care as well as coordinate the assessment, treatment, education and care of the patient (client, resident). You will participate in program development to ensure effective delivery of services, including the development of protocols, forms, education, and quality improvement initiatives. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients¿ treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies.

Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).

Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communications skills and computer literacy is preferred. Previous experience in a leadership role, providing direction to therapy assistants is an asset.
