About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

You’ll stay in private rooms with individual washrooms, enjoy balanced meals prepared by our exceptional culinary team, and have access to a 24-hour snack and sandwich bar. Your Impact
As the Advisor, Exploration Drilling, you will play a critical role in the execution and oversight of both surface and underground drilling programs at Brucejack. You’ll work directly with drilling contractors, site leadership, and the exploration team to ensure drilling operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Newmont’s global standards. Your work will be key to delivering high-quality exploration results while promoting a strong culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Lead drill service providers to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling programs
- Promote and model a proactive safety culture through inspections, Critical Control Verifications, and coaching
- Train and assess service providers on Newmont safety systems, including Fatality Risk Management and Live Work Elimination
- Coordinate contractor scheduling, rig deployment, and FIFO logistics to align with exploration targets and budgets
- Support exploration planning by providing technical input on drilling strategies, equipment, and new technologies
- Conduct contractor onboarding, pre-mobilization inspections, and performance reviews
- Host safety meetings, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and manage incident investigations
- Liaise with multiple departments including Procurement, Operations, Maintenance, and HSS to align support services
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Track contractor performance, manage cost tracking and invoice reconciliation, and maintain audit-ready records
- Provide leadership and mentoring to direct reports and other exploration team members
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Proven drilling experience in an underground mining environment
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Strong understanding of surface and underground drilling operations and modern drilling technologies
- Proven ability to manage technical contractors and oversee drilling logistics in a remote environment
- Knowledge of regional mining and drilling legislation and environmental standards
- Skilled in safety leadership, incident investigation, and contractor compliance
- Experience using Microsoft Office; familiarity with GED, SAP, or similar databases is an asset
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and ability to resolve operational challenges under pressure
Your Work Environment
Location: Brucejack Mine (fly-in/fly-out role)
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Conditions: Onsite in a remote, mountainous exploration environment with active surface and underground drilling operations
Requirements: Must pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing, and comply with all PPE and site safety protocols
